The History of VNITZ VEI

High-Voltage Research Centre is the branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «All-Russian Electrotechnical Institute named after V.I. Lenin».
The history of VNITS VEI is begun in 1967, when the unique scientific centre was founded for development and testing of the equipment for ultrahigh-voltage transmission line of direct andalternative currents.
The Testing Research Stands HVG 9MV, the 3,6 MV Сascade Transformer, the Сomplex «Alliur» were developed and produced, the investigation and development of the ultrahigh-voltage pulse equipment were carrying out.
At present, VNITZ VEI develops and produces high-voltage power supplies for industrial technologies and physical researches, ozone plants, power electromagnetic simulators, set of devices of speed automatic load transfer for industrial substations 6-10 kV. There are carried out the researches of atmospheric electricity, lightning, lightning protection and electromagnetic compatibility of the ground-based and isolated objects, high-voltage and ultrahigh-voltage insulation, streamer discharge and other directions of  the work
